Videofax Camera Packages

When we first started Videofax, we created camera packages based on how we and most of the Bay Area community liked to work. These preset  packages allow us to create an abbreviated way for our clients to order the equipment they need for a particular style of shooting without worrying about each and every little item. You can be assured that a fluid head comes with a tripod and spreader; that all the cables you need are included; that we are taking care of the details. Of course, items are often added and occasionally we substitute one kind of monitor for another based on the needs of the shoot, but these are a great starting point. Also, ordering a package provides you with a discount compared to ordering each item individually.

Package #1 – ENG

While we use the old news acronym - Electronic News Gathering - this is really the perfect little package for “run and gun” shoots or documentaries.  Camera, lens, sticks, one small monitor, all appropriate accessories such as cables and batteries, just enough to go out and shoot in a compact, fast-moving style.

Package #2 – EFP

Once again, we show our age by using the acronym for Electronic Field Production, which implies a more set-up kind of shoot, maybe some interviews that are set and lit, and then some B-Roll.  These jobs often allow more camera control and so we add a waveform/vectorscope and a digital paint controller to the items in package #1.

Package #3 – Studio

As its name implies, this package is designed for a shoot on a stage or in an environment where there will be more serious lighting and painting on the set.  For that, we add a color critical monitor to the package  and still keep the 9” monitor for the Director or DP to use.  We also include a matte box for this package.  This is the package to which there tend to be more add-ons, such as additional lensing, follow focus, client monitors, on-board AC monitors and any number of wonderful tools.
